Genshin Impact Gameplay Sound Re-design

In this project I took gameplay footage from YouTube (@Rubhen925) of the fantasy action-adventure video game Genshin Impact by MiHoYo and re-foleyed without listening to the original audio. Some of the sounds were recorded and edited by me and the background music and some sounds were obtained from royalty-free sources.

‘The Music of Action-Adventure Video Games: Players’ Awareness of Roles and Emotional Responses in Enemy Encounters’

My undergraduate dissertation. Building on musical emotion theory of perception and arousal as a basis, it prepares to question: How does video game music express meaning and emotion? What factors come into play in informing players’ conventional reception of musical events and settings? And when do players adopt deeper and more active listening modes?
In order to explore this, interviews consisting of five audio-visual tasks and a number of semi-guided questions were conducted on a one-to-one basis with a small sample of participants.

Animation, Film & TV

WALL-E - Sound Re-design

My submission for a fun sound design challenge to redesign a clip of the character Mo from the film WALL-E. I used mostly sound synthesis with the use of Vital paired with some foley recordings.

Baseline Trailer - Sound Re-design

A group recording, editing, and mixing project during my industry course at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP). We re-recorded all of the spot effects and ADR dialogue and split up to create our own mixes of this trailer for British TV Crime Drama ‘Baseline’ (2010).

Root & Branch Sustainability Campaign - Sound Design

This was a creative sound design project for the Sustainability team of Keele University Root&Branch. All sounds were recorded and edited, and some video shooting and editing was conducted by me, and background music was made using virtual instruments on Logic.
